This knowledge is built into the spaces we create and designed into the products we sell. By designing solutions that seamlessly integrate into a completely adaptable and flexible work environment, we are able to maximize efficiency and performance for our client’s employees, facilities and organizations. We do this through our unique design perspective, industry leading sustainability efforts and a constant commitment to quality services and products.

How People Work Organic workspaces focus on understanding people and how they work. This focus is geared towards maximizing the performance of the facility and enhancing the culture of the company by providing the organization with the tools to build long term success.

By understanding individual work styles, BOS is able to better drive choices in creating an organic workspace. We take into account many factors when defining how people work. Some include:

Are employees heavy computer users? Do managers frequently meet with their teams in their offices? How much and what type of storage is required? Is collaboration an important factor for certain work groups? These factors, as well as others, impact the spaces we create.

Natural Light Natural light is a significant component in an organic workspace. It provides a more positive environment and can dramatically affect productivity. It also can reduce overall electricity costs. Applying glass and lower-height panels to enable views to nature and access to daylight can provide inspiration. The visual quality of the overall design has been shown to positively affect the way people feel about a workspace.

Ergonomics Ergonomics are fundamental in office furniture. The tools must support the workers’ comfort and maximize their productivity. This may include seating, height adjustability or other work tools designed around the human body.

Privacy and Acoustics Privacy and acoustics are a critical component to work groups and interaction. Setting up the appropriate levels of privacy can increase worker productivity. It helps create a balance of privacy and collaboration.

Culture The culture of your organization can be impacted by the work environment. The organic workspace takes account of this and strategically plays a role in the overall culture and stereotypes of the company. A well-designed workspace can help shape the culture of the company and is a tool for creating organizational success.

Technology Technology is integrated into all aspects of an organic workspace to provide users the access and flexibility they need for increased communication and user productivity.

Organizational Performance Organizational performance requires understanding overall company work flow and how departments and workers need to interact to be successful. Proximity of departments, adjacency and social collaboration are all critical elements of how we design an organic workspace.

Facility Performance Facility performance can be maximized through organic workspaces by creating flexible environments that change as your business or work environments need changes. This means having modular environments with raised access flooring, moveable walls and flexible furniture ensuring your space evolves with your business.
